LIFE COACHING

From my perspective and experience, there are more similarities than differences between psychotherapy and life coaching. Both are dedicated to helping people secure a more rewarding and happy life.

Some life coaches draw exclusively on their business backgrounds. My life coaching skills grew organically from my psychotherapy work with business professionals in 2 week to 30 day residential treatment facilities. We found that ongoing coaching for a period of time solidified progress in treatment and greatly helped clients achieve their goals.

Having advanced education and experience as a mental health care professional has been instrumental in my approach to coaching.

Life coaching takes a holistic view of the persons life and can include addiction recovery work, career and work goals, boundary setting and communication with family and extended family members, general health including exercise and weight loss, stress management, spiritual growth and improving social connection.

I have educated and supported hundreds of clients in learning to connect with and take advantage of valuable free support groups.

Life coaching is collaborative and involves defining specific goals, formulating a plan that will use your skills while providing structure, encouragement and support. The willingness to accept accountability greatly improves results.

Life coaching can also be facilitated via Skype of phone.
